Wēop eal gesceaft, cwīðdon cyninges fyll. Crīst wæs on rōde.

Deað he þær byrigde; hwæðere eft Dryhten aras

mid his miclan mihte mannum to helpe…..

All creation wept, wailed because of the fall of the King. Christ was on the cross.
