Corpus Christi 2017 Procession Photos
A big thank you to everyone who took part in our Corpus Christi Procession this past Sunday. Thank you to our altar servers to leading our procession and for everyone who helped to carry the canopy to safeguard the Blessed Sacrament. Thank you to our choir for leading us in song and for everyone who walked, sang and prayed as we brought our Eucharistic Lord into our
neighbourhood. Finally, thank you to the Knights of Columbus for providing us with a tasty BBQ and for everyone who helped with the clean up afterwards.
In Christ, Fr. Nathan

Congratulations to Parishioners Marcel and Elle Maes on their 50th Anniversary

Marcel and Elle 50th anniversaryOn Saturday May 6th Marcel and Elle Maes renewed their marriage vows before God and in the presence of their family and the people of St. Bernard’s/Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Fr. Lowing, who witnessed their marriage 50 years ago in St. Bernard’s Church, joined us for the celebration of Holy Mass. We thank Marcel and Elle for their faithfulness to the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and for sharing their special day with us. May God continue to bless them and may our Holy Mother enfold them in the mantle of her love.

Today, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Pope Francis’ former cathedral in Buenos Aires. I was especially moved by the worn out and discoloured legs and feet on a crucifix near the cathedral’s entrance. I wonder how many prayers and sorrows rest upon them

From Fr. Nathan:
“Thank you to everyone who was present at this year’s Corpus Christi Procession. Thank you to our altar servers, choir members and participants for helping to lead our procession. Thank you to everyone who assisted in carrying the canopy and successfully navigating past overhanging tree branches along the way! Thank you to our Knights of Columbus for providing us with pancakes and hot dogs at the conclusion of our procession and for everyone who helped with the clean-up afterwards. Thank you to members of the Legion of Mary for donating the materials to build a canopy to shelter the Blessed Sacrament during the procession. It was a beautiful witness for our parish to bring Jesus out into our community and allow His Eucharistic Presence to bless one and all”

Rorate Mass – Dec.19, 2015

Thank you to Fr. Nathan for a beautiful sung Mass in English and Latin with incense, celebrated Ad Orientem  this morning, and thank you to Fr. Christino for concelebrating the Mass.. Also a big thanks to the altar servers and those who led in song and as well those who contributed behind the scene. It was nice to meet and welcome people from other parishes who joined us for these special Masses.

As we continue to pray for vocations we are mindful that vocations come from families, therefore let us encourage our sons and daughters to consider whether they might be called to serve the Lord as dedicated, holy, sisters, brothers, deacons and priests.
